Problem-Solving

Have you ever thought that you are having more problems to solve than you ever have before? It could be a problem with the car, your home appliances, your cell phone dropping calls or even trying to navigate through a zoom call on your computer. It could be getting past sudden surprises with your family, workplace and just life in general. I am learning every day that the entire problem-solving efforts are not completely left up to us. We try our best to troubleshoot, ask others to may decide to say just forget it. Don’t give up, there is help available to you.

First, let's discuss what are problems and next what is the process in solving them. Problems are defined as 'a matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome' (Oxford Languages Dictionary)." I can't agree with the literal meaning of problems more. Problems usually come suddenly, unexpected and unwelcomed. They can expand overtime if they are not dealt with in the beginning stages. They seem to mount up and sometimes can blow up in our face (not literally). It is how we handle them that will make the biggest difference in a favorable outcome.

Some phrase problem solving as "putting out fires," "having a come to Jesus’ meeting" with an individual or saying, "I'm going to fix that one of these days." The biggest lesson to learn is to manage it before it becomes a bigger problem.

This is my new saying and problem-solving strategy. God is the "problem solver" and I work in tandem with Him. He leads and guides me to resources, counselors and ways to get the job done. I realize that I must seek Him for answers to every problem, whether big or small. There are times in the recent past that I only took the big problems to Him and tried to figure out the small ones on my own. I had to learn the hard way that He's available for the big and small problems. If we take it to Him when they are small, then we don't run the risk of them becoming larger.

One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Father knows best and He gives us the wisdom, knowledge and understanding, so why not ask Him. He has the answer to every dilemma, circumstance, situation and every problem. You don't have to keep trying to figure it out. God has already worked it out. Seek Him for the answer and you will never go wrong with solving your problems.
